John M. Pollock

John M. Pollock, 73, of Hawk Run, died Sunday, February 18, 2024, at his residence.

John was born on November 8, 1950, in (North) Philipsburg, a son of the late Andrew J. and Genevieve J. (Burge) Pollock.

John was a 1971 graduate of the West Branch Area High School. Following high school, John served with the US Army during the Vietnam War era.

During his working career, John was employed with Norfolk Southern and retired as a Buildings and Bridges Foreman in 2012 after 24 years of service.

John was married on November 24, 1973, in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hawk Run, to the former Darla K. Baughman, who survives at home.

He is also survived by two sisters, Marcella Wood, of (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg and Genevieve Borger, of Moshannon; one brother, Andrew Pollock and his wife, Kathleen, of (Pardee) RD Philipsburg; his two beloved “fur babies”, Lil’ Bear and Foxy; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Hummel, in addition to his parents.

Among his favorite pastimes, John enjoyed hunting, family gatherings and “tinkering” around the house.

A private memorial service and celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Baughman Cemetery, (Sanborn) RD Houtzdale.

Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to the Clearfield County SPCA, 275 21^st. Street, Clearfield, Pa 16830; or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
