John Parada, Jr.

John Parada, Jr., 69, of Philipsburg, died Friday, March 9, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born January 9, 1949, in Philipsburg, he was a son of John and Maxine (Harper) Parada, both of whom preceded him in death.

John was a 1967 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Image of the US Air Force SealHe was a member of the American Legion, Smith-Pletcher Post #779, Centre Hall.

He was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator.

John was married on February 23, 1974, in West Decatur, to the former Bonnie K. Vieard, who survives at home.

He is also survived by two sons, John Parada and his wife, Jennifer, of (Parsonville) RD Brisbin and Charles Parada and his wife, Shannon, of Philipsburg; four grandchildren: Megan Parada, of St. Marys, Briana and Desiree Parada, of (Parsonville) RD Brisbin and Lauren Parada, of Philipsburg; one sister, Kathleen Enck, of (Glass City) RD Philipsburg; one brother Lawrence Parada, of Centre Hall; and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation or funeral service.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.

The arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
