Kenneth J. “Ken” O’Rourke

Kenneth J. “Ken” O’Rourke, 58, of Philipsburg, died Monday, December 31, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Kenneth was born on January 26, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of the late Eleanor T. (Clark) Block and Louis J. Block, of Spring Hill, Florida.

Kenneth was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School, North Easton, Massachusetts.

Kenneth was a self-employed painter and carpenter throughout most of his working career. He was also a talented songwriter and poet. His most recent CD, “Doin’ What I Do Best,” was recorded in 2014, with his close friend, Mark Sopic.

Kenneth is survived by one sister, Cheryl A. Feeley and her husband, James, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two brothers, Richard G. Lanza and his wife, Patricia, of Bradenton, Florida and Christopher A. Block of Arizona; the following nieces and nephews: Holly Marie Pendergraph, Dawn Theresa Pendergraph, Shyanne Crystal-Marie Lord, Shaun Adam Pendergraph, Mark James Hackett, Cory Lee Hackett and Shane Michael Hackett; and his late fiancée’s daughter, whom he considered like his own, Kelli Repasky and her husband, Dean, of Philipsburg.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his fiancée, Helen “Joan” Ferguson and one brother, Robert A. Block, in addition to his mother.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
