As Postmaster Tom knew everyone in town and everyone knew and loved Tom and Betty. I always admired them and along with their children considered them the perfect family. As children we watched as they built their home as we passed it several times a day on our way to School. I thought it was the prettiest house and property in town, we always went by the pond as children and later took our children over for a walk to see it. We always said it had blood suckers in it, whatever they were.
Tom was a man of great faith, all our lives he and Betty attended every Mass, Rosary and Stations devotions that were scheduled. Our lives were our Church and work, no distractions like in today’s world. Tom was a wonderful role model as husband, father and friend. The world is a better place because of him and he will never know the great impact he had on the lives of the people in a small town in Central Pa. He was a true gentleman and a good friend to the Patrick family. I am sure there was a big reunion of Hawk Run people waiting for him in heaven….
We will remember him fondly, miss him and pray for his soul, I along with my Brothers and Sisters offer our deepest sympathy to his entire family. God grant his soul eternal rest.I am sure the Dear Lord said ” well done Tom” as he welcomed him home…. The Patrick Family
