Patricia Grace (Nolan) Moore

Patricia Grace (Nolan) Moore, 87, of Orlando, FL, and formerly of Philipsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023, in Orlando, surrounded by her family and an extraordinary care team.

Our feisty and resilient Patsy (Pat, Patty or Ms. P., as she was known to family and friends), was born on March 6, 1936, in Philipsburg, the daughter of the late Annie (Armstrong) and William Francis Nolan of Scottish and Irish descent. She was a 1954 graduate of Philipsburg High School where she was a member of the majorettes. She also studied at the Civic Ballet in Pittsburgh and trained as a toe dancer. Her love of dance was a part of her life well into her 80s.

After high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Ralph Moore. They lived in Monroe, NY and San Diego, CA for a brief time before Patsy returned home to Philipsburg. They had three children together: Lori, David and Diane (lovingly nicknamed “Binky”).

Patsy attended South Hills Secretarial School and became an administrative professional. She was known for her dependability–she never missed a day of work. In 1991, she joined her daughter Lori and Lori’s husband, Michael, in Florida and started a second career in real estate. She proudly earned her real estate license in her late 60s and worked as Coldwell Banker Solomon’s marketing director.

Patsy was the proud Grammy to many four-legged family members. She loved their daily walks–visiting with the neighbors and trying to keep up with the golden retrievers she helped raise.   Making memories was what Patsy cherished most. She enjoyed spending time in the Teton Valley, Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania, trips to San Diego to visit family and vacations in Hawaii, Bermuda, Cancun and Key West with Lori and Michael. She was known to do a little shopping ahead of her trips–no one had a better wardrobe for each new adventure than Patsy.

Surviving are her children Lori Solomon (Michael) and David Moore, all of FL.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane “Binky” Moore (Philipsburg, PA); and two siblings, her brother, Matthew Nolan (San Diego, CA) and her sister, Martha Mount (Kopple, PA).

Her immediate and extended family in California, Maryland and Pennsylvania feel deep appreciation and gratitude for the care teams at Advent Health Kissimmee Hospital, Spring Hills Hunter’s Creek and her caregiver turned dear friend, Cici, who provided daily care, adventures and companionship.

Patsy was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Celebration, FL.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. Fourth St., Philipsburg, PA,  on April 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Matthias Rendon, O.F.M., celebrant.

A graveside service at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, (Tyrone Pike) Philipsburg, will immediately follow the Mass where she will rest next to her daughter, “Binky.”

The family suggests memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Patsy’s honor and memory.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg.

Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and share memories at www.beezerheathfh.com.
