He enjoyed going for rides on the back roads in Blacky, searching for mushrooms, taking care of his “four-legged” companions, and loving the outdoors. One of his hallmark days of the year was the first day of trout season in the “city.”

Neal held a few jobs during his working career, including working as a heavy equipment/dragline operator in the local coal industry and for Penn DOT. After retirement, he enjoyed driving school bus for Long Motor Bus Company of Philipsburg and was one of the district’s most loved bus drivers.

He was a Life Member of the Philipsburg B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge and Country Club, #1173, and the Philipsburg VFW, Post #3450.
