Edith V. Mihalko

Edith V. Mihalko, 82, of Morrisdale, and formerly of West Decatur, died Thursday, July 13, 2017, at UPMC Altoona.

Born August 2, 1934, in LeContes Mills, she was a daughter of Clyde and Bertha (Lucas) Welch, both of whom preceded her in death.

Edith was of the Christian faith. She was employed as an inspector for D.D.J. Manufacturing, formerly of Madera, until her retirement.

She enjoyed sewing and watching her favorite television programs in her spare time.

Edith was married on November 10, 1991, in Philipsburg, to Joseph M. Mihalko, whom preceded her in death on April 13, 1996.

She was also preceded in death by six sisters: Mary McFay, Gladys Martell, Bertha Collar, Eva Dodge, Theona Derbeque and Edna Best; six brothers: Carl, Haskell, Herbert, Charles, Floyd and Elmer Welch; and one son-in-law, Donald May, III.

Edith is survived by five daughters: Sandra Harrier and her husband, Gary, of (Shiloh) Woodland, Wilma Foster and her husband, Rodney, of Morrisdale, Bonnie May, of Carrolltown, Edith Fulghum and her husband, Alan, of Franklin, Georgia and Trudy Farrell and her husband, William, of Altoona; four sons: Edward Weld and his wife, Sara, of Glen Hope, John D. Weld and his wife, Sharon, of Olanta, Todd Weld and his wife, Karin, of Houtzdale and Dale Weld and his wife, Sharon, of Winston, Georgia; twenty-two grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with Pastor Jim Knepp, Officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 16, 2017, from 4 to 8 pm at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg.

Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery, (Beulah) Ramey.
