Jean H. McCamley

Jean H. McCamley, 99, of (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg, died Monday, September 26, 2022, at Colonial Courtyard, Clearfield.

Jean was born on June 13, 1923, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Eunice Sleigh.

Jean was a graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.

She was married to James D. McCamley, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2006.

Early in her working career, Jean was employed with the Nittany Lion Inn, State College. She had also been employed for a short period of time as a hostess with the Arena Restaurant formerly located within the Harbor Inn of Philipsburg. Above all, she was a dedicated homemaker.

She attended St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg.

Jean is survived by a daughter, Marianne M. Rothwell and her husband, Peter, of Harrington Park, New Jersey; four grandchildren: Spencer, Stephen, Shannon and Clay; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.

Jean was preceded in death by a son, James Robert “Bob” McClain and three half-sisters: Muriel, Gerry and Judy, in addition to her mother and husband.

Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was the sweetest, kindest and funniest person to those that knew her. During the latter part of her life, she always made a point to instill her values, wisdom and sage advice to her younger family members.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
