Mary Ann Mayhew

Mary Ann Mayhew, 74, formerly of Philipsburg, died Monday, October 17, 2022, at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville

Mary Ann was born on November 9, 1947, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Paul M. Mayhew, Jr. and Mary K. “Pat” (Wilson) Mayhew.

Mary Ann was a graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the Pennsylvania State University.

Mary Ann was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg. During her younger years, she was also a member of the area Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, the Pennhurst Players and the Moshannon Valley YMCA women’s softball and volleyball leagues. She was also a past member of the Philipsburg American Legion.

During her working career, Mary Ann was employed with Pinkerton Security, Harrisburg and Nittany Cleaning, State College. Later in her career, she was employed as a babysitter.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Sandi Mayhew and a brother-in-law, Gerald “Jere” Cline.

She is survived by a sister, Patricia Jo Cline, of West Decatur; two brothers, Paul M. Mayhew, III, of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Charles Michael “Mike” Mayhew, of Delaware; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11am, with Pastor Donald Smith, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm; and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery columbarium.
