Steven A. Martin

Steven A. Martin, 77, of (South) Philipsburg, died Friday, December 7, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Steven was born on February 19, 1941, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Steven P. Martin and Sophie (Trojanowsky) Martin Mease.

Steven was a graduate of the Moshannon Valley School District. Following high school, he served with the US Army.Image of the US Army Seal

He was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church, Houtzdale.

During his early working career, he was employed as a deliveryman with Railway Express and then he was employed at Penn State, University Park Campus. However, Steven would spend most of his career employed as an inspector with PennDOT. Following his retirement from PennDOT after 35 years of service, he served as a consultant for McTish Kunkel & Associates, Allentown.

He was married on September 5, 1964, at Faith United Lutheran Church, to the former Janice A. Vaux, who survives at home.

He is also survived by one son, Brad S. Martin and his wife, Ashley, of (South) Philipsburg; two wonderful granddaughters, Shelby and Lexus Martin; two brothers, Richard Martin, of Florida and Thomas Martin and his wife, Betty, of Dothan, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Philipsburg, with Pastor Dale Buchwitz, officiating.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
