Martha “Jane” Long

Martha “Jane” Long, 72, of (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at her residence.

Jane was born on April 26, 1951, in Bradford Township, Clearfield County, a daughter of the late Robert Edward Buck, Sr. and Martha LaRue (Maines) Buck.

She was a 1969 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.

Jane was employed as a presser throughout her working career with several area businesses that included Charles Navasky & Co., Marrara’s Cleaners and Chubby’s Tux Shop and Cleaners.

Jane was a member of the gFree Church, (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg.

She was married on October 23, 1971, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg, to Duane H. Long, Sr., who survives at home.

She is also survived by a son, Duane H. Long, Jr. and his wife, Chrissy, of Philipsburg; a daughter, Melanie L. Stiner and her husband, Chuck Stiner, Jr., of Wallaceton; four grandchildren: Jordan E. Stiner and his fiancée, Karina Stanislavskay, of Tyrone, Adam L. Stiner, of Eugene, Oregon, and Devin M. Long and Corbin L. Long, both of Philipsburg; two great-grandchildren; four sisters: Erma Jean Taylor and her husband, John, Donna Rae Freeman, Esther Diane Maines and her husband, Michael, and Kitty Lou Taylor and her husband, Mark; two brothers, Robert Edward Buck, Jr. and his wife, Patty and Wilbur Darrell Buck and his wife, Betty; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Jane was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Mae Adniskey and Peggy Ann Lovlie and one brother, Albert Carl Buck, in addition to her parents.

Among her favorite pastimes, Jane loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the gFree Church, 305 Keystone Hill Road, Philipsburg, on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Noon, with Pastor Noel Meyers, officiating.

The visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10 am until the time of the service.
