Benjamin Calvin Lloyd
Benjamin Calvin Lloyd, 80, of Philipsburg, PA died on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Windy Hill Village, P.S.L. in Philipsburg, PA.
He was the son of the late Paulard “Bill” & Elizabeth (Bell) Lloyd, born on March 14, 1933 in Philipsburg, PA. He married the former M. Louise Ashcroft on February 14, 1959 in Morrisdale, PA; she survives him at home.
Mr. Lloyd was of the Protestant Faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Moshannon Lodge, #0391, F. & A. M. in Philipsburg, PA; a member of the Altoona Consistory, Valley of Altoona and Jaffa Shrine, both of Altoona, PA; a member and Captain of the former Moshannon Valley Shriners Motorcycle Corps; and a member of the V.F.W. #3450 in Philipsburg, PA.
He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator throughout his working career; first with New Enterprise Stone & Lime, Inc. of New Enterprise, PA and then with Al Hamilton Contracting of Woodland, PA.
Mr. Lloyd is survived by: a daughter, Karen J. Lloyd-Pillot & her husband Neil of Thompsontown, PA; a son, Benjamin Calvin Lloyd, II & his wife Tracy of Hopewell, Township, Aliquippa, PA; five grandchildren: Jay, Adam, & Nicholas Pillot of Thompsontown, PA and Abigail & Rebecca Lloyd of Hopewell Township, Aliquippa, PA; and a niece & two nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, PA; with Rev. Dr. John A. Godissart, nephew of the deceased and Rev. Noel Myers officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, PA.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.
