Robert L. Leskovansky
Robert L. Leskovansky, 83, of Philipsburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois, PA.
He was the son of the late Alex Leskovansky, Sr. & Mary (Lagewits) Leskovansky, born on June 6, 1930 in Morann, PA. He married the former Helen J. Pavlick on June 12, 1954 at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg, PA. She survives him at home.
Mr. Leskovansky was a member of the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg, PA, where he was also a Eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus; a 4th degree knight of Pope John Paul II, Assembly #952 in Clearfield and a 3rd degree knight of Holy Family Council, #8701, Morrisdale.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard squad; a member of the Military order of Cooties, B.B., PT #58; and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Louis Jenkins Post #3450, all of Philipsburg.
He had been employed as a corrections officer for 33 years at S.C.I. Rockview, retiring in 1989. Prior to working at Rockview, he had worked at the Black Moshannon State Park. He attended the Woodward Township High School.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Leskovansky was preceded in death by: five brothers, John, Alex, Jr., Stephen, Bernard and Francis Leskovansky; and three sisters, Anna Thompson, Mary Archer and Helen Archer.
Along with his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Helen M. Leskovansky of Philipsburg, PA and Theresa J. Webster & her husband Earl T. of Philipsburg, PA; a brother, Joseph Leskovansky of Royal Oaks, Michigan; five grandchildren, Theresa M. Hutton & her husband Robert of Chester Hill, Anton R.A. Leskovansky of West Decatur, Chelsea E., Carl J. & Benjamin J. Webster, all of Philipsburg; two great-granddaughters, Jocelyn R. & Olivia R. Hutton, both of Chester Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 South 4th Street, Philipsburg, PA, with Rev. Robert J. Kelly , celebrant. Burial will be at the Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA.
The Knights of Columbus Color Corp. will stand guard during the evening visitation and assist with the rosary, which will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military graveside honors will be accorded by members of the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.
