Verna Kundracik
Verna Kundracik, 93, of Philipsburg, PA died on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA.
Born on August 22, 1921 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Anna (Levitsky) Shufran. She married Michael Kundracik on January 29, 1948 in Corry, PA; he preceded her in death on October 29, 2007.
She was a member of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Hawk Run, PA. Mrs. Kundracik worked as a clerk and buyer for various department stores and was employed with Sears in Atlanta, GA for eighteen years until her retirement. She was a 1939 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Johnson, Margaret Kosut, and Alice Alberico; and two brothers, Alex and William Shufran.
Mrs. Kundracik is survived by a sister, Marie Radomsky and her husband John of South Minneapolis, MN; a brother Thomas Shufran of North Tonawanda, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Hawk Run, PA, with Reverend Peter Benyo officiating.
Burial will be at Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery in Hawk Run, PA.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA. Panahida will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
