Wilma Jane Jones
Wilma Jane Jones, 84, of Philipsburg, PA and formerly of Port Matilda, PA died on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg, PA.
Born on May 1, 1930 in West Decatur, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Walter, Sr. & Bertha May (Wisor) Hamer. She married William B. Jones on May 1, 1948 in West Decatur, PA; he preceded her in death on January 25, 2002.
Mrs. Jones was a member of the New Life Center in Philipsburg, PA. She was employed with the maintenance department at Penn State until her retirement.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Kimberly Lambert; five sisters, Evelyn Luzier, Bernice Spittler, Helen Waring, Ruth Fleck and Vaughn Cole; and a brother, Walter Hamer, Jr.
Mrs. Jones is survived by: two daughters, Margaret Elaine Myers & her husband John of Philipsburg, PA and Deborah Ann Hoy & her husband Michael of RD Port Matilda, PA; a son, Donald B. Jones & his wife, Sandy of Palm Harbor, FL; a sister, Frances Shimmel & her husband Clyde of York, PA; and a brother, Ashley Hamer & his wife Shirley of York, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Jean Hamer of York, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA, with Rev. John T. Dill officiating. Burial will be at the Black Oak Cemetery in Port Matilda, PA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 10:00 – 11:00 at the funeral home.
