Edward D. Jones

Edward D. Jones, 79, of Woodland, passed away September 24, 2021, at his residence after a short battle with cancer.

Edward was born on July 10, 1942, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Clarence and Irene (Garner) Jones; and stepson of the late George Wilson and Link Manahan.

Edward worked for a number of different businesses throughout his career; including working as a mechanic for Central Volkswagen; DuBrook Cement; a school bus and coach driver for Manson Bus; and Edward, known by his CB handle, “Mountain Man” drove O.T.R. for Butler, Lansberry and RT Merryman trucking companies. He also operated his own woodworking business, “Jones’ Woodcraft” for over 25 years.

His favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing, in addition to his woodworking.

Edward was married on September 18, 1967, in Woodland, to the former Sandra L. Hugar. Sandra, his wife of 52 years, preceded him in death on January 10, 2020.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Edward Dwayne and Bruce Edward Jones.

He is survived by three children and their respective families: Brent R. Jones and his wife, Deborah (Rosinski) Jones, of Clearfield, Andrea R. Jones, of Summerville and her son, Curtis Orris, of Clarion and Katina A. Rivera and her husband, Enrique Rivera, their children: Alyssa, Enrique, Jr., Gabriel E. and Domenic E. Rivera and one great-grandson, Joanel E. Rivera, all of Lancaster; his aunt, Norma Schmidt, of Florida; and numerous other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
