Mildred M. (Marince) Johnson

Mildred M. (Marince) Johnson, 95, of Philipsburg and formerly of Lanse, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Mildred was born on January 28, 1927, in Morrisdale, a daughter of the late Walter Marince, Sr. and Annie (Mandel) Marince.

Mildred was a 1944 graduate of the former Morris Township High School and a graduate of Thompson Business College, Harrisburg.

Mildred was married on August 18, 1951, in Morrisdale, to Raphael Johnson, who preceded her in death on February 22, 2000.

She was employed during her working career as an administrative assistant for River Hill Coal Company. She was also a local Avon Representative for over 50 years.

Mildred was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Morrisdale; where she served for many years with the Altar / Rosary Society.

She was also a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Mildred and her late husband were both accomplished trapshooters and enjoyed competing in local and regional events.

Mildred was preceded in death by a son, Mark Johnson; five sisters; and six brothers in addition to her parents and husband.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Young and her husband, Pastor David Young, of Iowa; a son, Jamie Johnson and his wife, Emily, of California; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Louise Ensz; and numerous other extended family members.

Private arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.

A private interment was in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Morrisdale.
