Daniel L. Ireland

Daniel L. Ireland, 63, of RD Morrisdale, died Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Mountain Laurel Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

Daniel was born on July 25, 1955, in Philipsburg, a son of Francis and Esther M. (Smeal) Ireland, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a 1973 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School.

Daniel spent the early part of his working career employed in the coal mining industry. He was employed at several area mining operations; including Lady Jane near Penfield and the former Rushton Mine near Osceola Mills. Following the closure of the Rushton Mine, Daniel enrolled in Triangle Tech, DuBois Campus. After graduation, he began a career in the electrical field; and was employed as a journeyman wireman / electrician with the IBEW, Local #5, Pittsburgh, until his retirement.

He was a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Association, Frenchville.

Daniel is survived by one brother, David L. Ireland and his wife, Donna, of Philipsburg; two nieces, Amanda Ireland, of Milford, Ohio and Alicia Ireland of Philipsburg; a nephew, Aaron Ireland, of Philipsburg; and numerous other extended family members.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
