Born on September 25, 1918 in Hawk Run, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. & Adelaide V. (Mears) Harris.  She married Charles P. Howe on September 18, 1937 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Morrisdale, PA; he preceded her in death on September 16, 1976.

Mrs. Howe was a member of the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hawk Run, PA, where she was also a member of the church altar guild.  She was a mother and a homemaker, and she was a 1936 graduate of the Morris Township High School.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a great grandson, Luke Howe, a sister, Mary Louise Wilson; and a brother, Frederick “Fred” Harris.  She was the last of her generation.

Mrs. Howe is survived by: a daughter,  Suzanne L. Askey of Hawk Run, PA; four sons, Harry W. Howe & his wife Marian of Erie , PA, James P. Howe & his wife, Loretta of Kylertown, PA, Charles F. Howe & his wife, Joan of Hawk Run, PA, and Patrick W. Howe & his wife Ruth Ann of Elizabethtown, PA; sixteen grandchildren; one step-grandchild; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hawk Run, PA; with Rev. Clifford A. Johnston and Rev. William R. Walker officiating.  Burial will be at the Ashcroft Cemetery in Hawk Run, PA.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA.
