Delmar E. Henry

Delmar E. Henry, 61, of Philipsburg, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Delmar was born on July 13, 1960, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Jimmy R. Henry and Connie F. (Hampton) Hemphill, who survives of Osceola Mills. He was a stepson of the late Raymond E. “Hempy” Hemphill, who had raised him as his own.

Delmar was a 1980 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. He also graduated from the small engine repair program at Harlem G. Andrews School, Johnstown.

During his working career, he worked with a number of construction companies and on some area farms. His working career carried over to his hobbies as he enjoyed tinkering on all kinds of small engines and farm work. He was of the Christian faith.

Delmar was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Breshears and a brother, Earl R. Hemphill, in addition to his father and stepfather.

Delmar is survived by his mother, Connie F. Hemphill, of Osceola Mills; two sisters, Rosalie Kephart and her husband, Mark, of Houtzdale and Wanda Phillips and her husband, Pastor Joseph Phillips, of Osceola Mills; one brother, Thomas W. Hemphill and his companion, Beth, of West Decatur; six nieces: Amanda Swatsworth and her husband, Todd, Naomi Bodle and her husband, Jason, Misty Breshears, Chanel Breshears, Leya Mitchell and her husband, Cliff and Shyanne Hemphill; one nephew, Raymond “RP” Phillips; and numerous other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Noon, with Pastor Joseph R. Phillips, officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service.

Interment will be in Sanborn Cemetery, (Sanborn) RD Houtzdale.
