George H. Harris

George H. Harris, 62, of Philipsburg, died Saturday, May 22, 2021, at his residence.

George was born on February 15, 1959, in Philipsburg, a son of the late George H. Harris, Jr. and Olive (Hull) Harris.

George attended the West Branch Area High School. He was employed as a custodian with the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District and retired from the school after 38 years of service. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union.

He was married on July 14, 1979, in Philipsburg, to the former Karen E. Rodgers who survives of Philipsburg.

He is also survived by a daughter, Kylee S. Harris and her companion, Scott A. Pollard, of Philipsburg; seven sisters: Gladys Weld, of Sandy Ridge, Kathy Showers, of Philipsburg, Carol Welch, of Texas, Betty Harris, of Philipsburg, Rosie Albert and her husband, Mark, (Sr.), of Sandy Ridge, Susie Williams and her husband, Gary, of Houtzdale and Debbie Good and her husband, Allan, of Clearfield; six brothers: Roy Harris and his wife, Sharon, of Morrisdale, Paul Harris, of Sykesville, Donald and Helen Harris, of West Decatur, Albert Harris, of Hawk Run, Mark Harris, of Philipsburg, Billy and Teresa Harris, of West Decatur; and numerous other extended family members and his beloved four-legged friend, Izzy.

George was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, George H. Harris, IV; and one sister, Eddie Harris.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 1:00pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Philipsburg, with Pastor Jeffery Lauer, officiating.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, from 6 to 8 pm and on Thursday from 11 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
