Dennis E. “Denny” Guenot

Dennis E. “Denny” Guenot, 88, formerly of Philipsburg, died Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Mt. Laurel Health and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

Dennis was born on November 29, 1930, in Frenchville, a son of the late Lloyd and Leona (Plubell) Guenot.

Denny was a 1948 graduate of Clearfield High School. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg. He was the owner / operator of Guenot Builders, a building contracting company formerly located in Philipsburg.

Denny was married on April 26, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville, to the former Elizabeth “Betty” T. Leigey. Betty preceded him in death on August 17, 2016.

He is also survived by one daughter, Germaine T. Diehl, of Quakertown,(Pa); three sons: Gregory J. Guenot and his wife, Lisa, of West Decatur, Rodney D. Guenot and his wife, Karen, “Joan”, of West Decatur and Gerard E. Guenot and his wife, Sandra, of Port Matilda; fourteen grandchildren: Stacy A. Markel and her fiancé, Daniel Ceprish, Lori R. Shaw and her husband, Jerry, Todd D. Guenot, Jessica L. Guenot and her fiancé, Jason Supenia, Nicholle M. Guenot, Kristin T. Reams and her husband, Michael, Tim Guenot and his wife, Becky, Billy Guenot and his wife, Stacey, Curtis Guenot and his fiancée, Jennifer Marteney, Liza Guenot, Kaila A. Fleischman and her husband, Andrew, Brenton T. Diehl, Christina G. Miller and her husband, James and Joshua S. Diehl; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa M. Grant and her husband, Claude, of Warrior’s Mark and Rosemary Dehn and her husband, James, of Maryland; three brothers: Ronald Guenot and his wife, Penny, of Warrior’s Mark, Raymond Guenot and his wife, Dawn, of North Carolina and Edward Guenot, of Warrior’s Mark; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Guenot; in addition to his parents and his wife, Betty.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 11 am, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 64 St. Mary’s Lane, Frenchville, with Rev. David A. Perry, celebrant.
