Harold R. “Harley” Green

Harold R. “Harley” Green, 79, of Woodland, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

Harold was born on October 25, 1941, in Clearfield, a son of the late Reese E. and Sylvia (Shifter) Green.

Harold, better known by his family and friends as “Harley,” was employed throughout his working career as a truck driver for several trucking companies. Later in his career, he was the owner /operator of H. R. Green Trucking.

Harold was married on May 30, 1981, in Philipsburg, to the former Joan A. Zimmermann, who survives at home.

He is also survived by two sons, William R. Green and his companion, Paula Rae, of Woodland and Harold W. Green and his wife, Lisa, of Morrisdale; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Casher and her husband, Rick, of Woodland and Christine M. Melius and her companion, Jesse, of West Decatur; six grandchildren: Morgan, Courtney, Taylor, Alyssa, Curtis and Darien; eleven great-grandchildren: Hayden, Bristol, Colton, Adalynn, Emerson, Benson, Amyah, Charlee, Broc, Brinley, Riley (and two on the way); two brothers, Thomas Green, of West Decatur and Terry Green and his wife, Tammy, of (Shiloh) Woodland; and his two beloved furbabies, Widget and Emme.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sonja Green; one brother, Dennis Green; two stepchildren, Amy Sue Casher and William I. Melius, Jr.; and one step-grandson, Nathan Brnik.

Amongst his favorite pastimes, he loved to go fishing and hunting, watching reruns of westerns on television and “gossiping with his granddaughters.”

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
