Sharon K. Goss

Sharon K. Goss, 65, of Philipsburg, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at her residence.

Sharon was born on September 25, 1957, in Grassflat, a daughter of Mary Lou (Lynch) Boyer, of Philipsburg; and the late Francis Boyer.

Sharon was a 1975 graduate of the West Branch Area High School. She was employed during her working career as a medical transcriptionist.

Sharon was a very active volunteer in the Philipsburg community. She was instrumental in the creation of the Cold Stream Recreation Foundation; where she spearheaded the campaign for the development of the pavilion and playground facilities at the dam. She was a founding member of the Philipsburg Chapter of the Quilts of Valor, a member of the Philipsburg Historical Society and a member of the Philipsburg B.P.O. Elks Lodge & Country Club, Lodge #1173. She also served two terms on the Philipsburg Borough Council.

Sharon was married on May 20, 1994, at the First Presbyterian Church, Philipsburg, to Douglas L. “Doug” Goss, who survives at home.

She is also survived by five sisters; one brother; and numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Craig A. Knepp; and five beloved Norwegian Elkhounds.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Entombment will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery Columbarium.
