Audrey Naomi Good

Audrey Naomi Good, 91, of (South) Philipsburg, died Sunday, August 14, 2022, at her residence.

Audrey was born on July 5, 1931, in Sharpsburg, Pa., a daughter of the late William F. Budweg and Margaret Ida (Lohr) Montgomery- Budweg-Hess.

Audrey was raised in Sharpsburg where she attended a Lutheran Parochial school through the 11th grade. Her family then  moved to San Diego where she attended and graduated from Point Loma High School 1949.

Following high school, Audrey met the love of her life and future husband, Alfred E. Good, Jr., from Osceola Mills, Pa. while he was stationed in San Diego with the US Navy. They were married in San Diego on October 6, 1950. Alfred preceded her in death on June 7, 2001.

While living in San Diego, Audrey was a dedicated homemaker and busy mother raising six children.  In 1970 Alfred and Audrey moved back to Pennsylvania settling in Philipsburg where they established the family restaurant business, Goody’s Pike Inn, for over 45 years.

Audrey is survived by two daughters, Susan N. (Good) Matusko, of Philipsburg and Lisa A. Good, of Bellefonte; three sons: Joseph G. Good and his wife, Anne, of San Diego, Calif., Thomas D. Good and his wife, Doreen and Michael A. Good and his wife, Robin, all of Philipsburg; seven grandchildren: Heather N. Andrews and her husband, Ben, Jesse A. Matusko and his wife, Cristal, Michael M. Good, Ethan J. Good, Levi T. Good and his wife, Keila, Haley R. McCracken and her husband, Gerald and Autumn M. Anderson and her husband, Jarrod; great-grandchildren: Aubree Good, Rowen Good, Sofia McCracken, Henry McCracken, Madeline M. Anderson, Ben Andrews, Brayden Andrews, Brenden Andrews and Zoe Matusko; and numerous other extended family members.

Audrey was also survived by her beloved 15 year old  Yorkie-Poo, Button,  whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Linda M. Good-Martinez; a granddaughter, Amanda E. Matusko; a grandson, Michael J. Good; four sisters: Dorothy W. Carson, Norma Schweitzer, Ruth “Jean” Carson and Lois I. Scott; a brother, Frederick G. Budweg; and a half-brother, David Montgomery.

Audrey was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Philipsburg.

Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed reading, going on driving adventures, shopping, feeding her birds and other backyard wildlife and going out to eat with family and friends.  But most of all, doting on Button.

Visitation for family and friends will be at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm; and on August 23, 2022, from noon until 1 pm, followed by a service at the funeral home with Rev. Christine Roe of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Baughman Cemetery, (Sanborn) RD Houtzdale.
