Mrs. Hurwitz….I am so sorry to heard the sad news.I just found out yesterday. I have been promising that I would be up to see you. I know you have many things to take care of but, I will stop by soon. I will bring my silly friend Janice too. Take care. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

By the Grace of God and through faith may you draw near to God during this time of Mr. Hurwitz passing. I was not honored to have met your loved one but I can say before my dads passing , Don Murray, often spoke highly of him and valued their friendship. He told of an honest, hardworking, family loving man who often was involved for the communities sake. He will be missed.

Marjorie and Ilene,

I was so disheartened to hear of your loss. My sincerest sympathy is given to you both and the family.

I had enjoyed knowing and working with Edsel for many years. He always had a smile, good advice and was so positive about life. Ilene, he spoke to me often about you and how proud he was of your accomplishments. Another good memory was how happy he was when you gave birth to your son and Ed became a grandfather. I didn’t get to have a chat with him when I was home two years ago, but just the other day he was on my mind.

May the Grace of God give you comfort during the time it will take to heal from your loss. I will keep you in my prayers.

Dearest Margie, What great friends you and Eddie were to my folks, Bill & Virginia Meyer. I have many happy memories of you and Eddie at our house and of being at your home. Those were precious times, never to be forgotten. I am so sorry for your loss.

Ed will be missed greatly. He was a wonderful person. He always said hi and asked how we were. When we weren’t having a good day he told us to stay positive. We are going to miss sitting in his office sharing stories from his past times. We send our condolences to the family.

I knew Eddie as he lived a block away from where I grew up and his years on the airport authority as I worked for Allegheny Airlines. Eddie was a
very fine gentleman. It was a pleasure to have known him. Rest in peace.

Samuel Lansberry

I knew Eddie for many years and had great respect for him. On several occasions I went to him for some real estate advice and he graciously obliged

me. His help made a huge difference in my transactions. I considered Eddie a real friend. He will be missed.

To Marjorie, Ilene, Louis, and Ben: I am so sorry for your loss. Eddie was a wonderful neighbor and friend to my family as I grew up across the street. Since then, I always looked forward to visiting with him and Marjorie when I was home. His stories were plentiful, enlightening and entertaining. Everyone he’d ever met was a “friend.” Eddie’s sly smile was infectious, and his gentle spirit soothing. He truly loved his family, his many friends, and his hometown of Philipsburg. When my mother struggled through cancer, he and Marjorie were wonderful friends to her. And after she passed, they never failed to include Dad at mealtimes. (Marjorie is an incredible cook and baker!) He will leave a tremendous void in this community. They throw the word around a lot these days, but in this case it is accurate and well-deserved: Mr. Hurwitz was a true HUMANITARIAN. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
