A. Jeane Franek
A. Jeane Franek, 92, of Philipsburg, went to be with her LORD on Thursday, March 13, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Jeane was born on November 15, 1921 in Bellefonte, a daughter of the Late Charles and Mary (Campbell) Kelley.
She was a high school graduate; and, she graduated in 1939 from nursing school in Binghamton, New York. She was fortunate to practice her nursing career in several states including: New York, Alaska and Pennsylvania.
Jeane was married on September 15, 1939, to John M. Franek. Her husband of 63 years preceded her in death in 2002.
Jeane, a practicing Christian for over 80 years, was always ready to witness for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Messiah Baptist Church, Lanse; and, she had attended the New Life Center, Philipsburg.
Both John and Jeane were able to live out their respective dreams in life. John owned and operated a farm; while Jeane, a L.P.N, owned the former Presqueisle Personal Care Home, Philipsburg, for many years.
Jeane was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Ronald “Butch” Franek; a daughter, Barbara C. “Barbie” Franek; a foster daughter, Barbara Ann Johns; and one brother, Robert T. Kelley.
Jeane is survived by a son, Philip Franek, Philipsburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Sherman, Alaska; a brother, John Charles “Jack” Kelley, Drifting; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a niece, Ann Sharpless, Osceola Mills who was her caretaker for many years.
The funeral service will be on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with the Rev. John T. Dill, Officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg; and, on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home
Interment will be in Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Lanse.
