Gail R. Francisko

Gail R. Francisko, 80, of RD Philipsburg, died Saturday, April 8, 2023, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Gail was born on February 26, 1943, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Denochick) Ropchuck.

She was a 1961 graduate of the West Branch Area High School.

Gail was employed as an administrative assistant throughout her working career. Early in her career, she spent a few years at Penn State and then at the former HRB Singer. She then accepted a position with Penn DOT District 2-0 where she would remain until her retirement in 2003. Following her retirement from Penn DOT, she worked in a similar fashion for Dick Corp Construction and then McCormick-Taylor until her second retirement in 2019.

Gail was a longtime member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hawk Run; and recently moved her membership to SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg. She was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge & Country Club #1173, of Philipsburg and the retired AFSCME, Chapter #13.

Gail was married on April 19, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hagerstown, Maryland, to Gerald J. Francisko, who preceded her in death on August 18, 2011.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Carlson and two infant brothers, in addition to her parents and husband.

Gail is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Keith and her husband, Don, of Houtzdale and Jennifer M. Francisko and her fiancé, Thomas, of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey; a grandson, Allen Jon Keith, of Houtzdale; a sister, Marie Beall, of Galloway, New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews; and two beloved grand-puppies, Jameson and Bullet.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11 am, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. 4th. Street, Philipsburg, with Rev. Matthias Rendon, O.F.M., celebrant.

The visitation will be on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 4 until 8 pm at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.

The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 4 pm by the members of the SS. Peter & Paul Altar & Rosary Society.
