Leujean Dunlap PhotoLeujean M. “Jean” Dunlap, 97, of Philipsburg, died Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Leujean was born on January 20, 1921, in (Barrett) RD Clearfield, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Mable (Gill) Maney.

Jean was married in 1947, in Philipsburg, to John J. Dunlap, who preceded her is death on April 5, 1992.

When she was in good health, she attended the First Church of Christ, Philipsburg. She was also a member of the former Decatur Village Singers. Jean was a dedicated homemaker; and briefly employed with the former Philipsburg Quik Chek Market.

She enjoyed creating numerous types of craft items; including: stuffed teddy bears, pottery, ceramics and crochet. Also, Jean and her late husband loved fishing for crappies at Howard Dam and fly fishing for trout on Spring Creek.

Jean was preceded in death by one son, John E. Dunlap; one sister, Molly Taylor; and one brother Herman Maney, in addition to her parents and husband.

She is survived by three grandchildren: Julie Marie Jordin and her husband, John, of Nantucket, Massachusetts, John Matthew Dunlap and his wife, Piper, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Sarah Katherin Dunlap, of Pittsburgh; three great-grandchildren: Jacqueline Marie Jordin and John Nicholas Jordin, both of Nantucket, and Charlsie Dunlap, of Tulsa; Three sisters: Dorothy A. “Dottie” Curtis, of Philipsburg, Joan Popoff, of Erie, and Donna Brindle, of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Edward Maney and his companion, Charlie, of Erie; one daughter-in-law, Martha Dunlap, of McCandless Township, (Pa); and numerous other extended family members, including a niece and great-niece, Sharon Foreman and her daughter, Kelly Matsko, both of Philipsburg.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 5 pm, at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, with Rev. Michelle Bodle, officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday, from 3 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
