Photo of Alfred DoranAlfred Emigh “Mike” Doran, 99, of Philipsburg, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2018 at Mountain Laurel Health and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.

Mike was born on March 15, 1919, in New Liberty, a son of the late William and Rose (Voyzey) Doran.

Mike was a 1937 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg. He retired from a lifelong career in retail sales with W.T. Rawleigh.

Mike was married on July 31, 1940, in Drifting, to the former Magherita Folmar, who preceded him in death on August 20, 2006.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Florence “Ann” Alstadt; two brothers, G. Robert and William Doran; and two grandchildren Kimberly and Bernette Doran, in addition to his parents.

Mike is survived by one daughter, Paula Torosian and her husband, Craig, of Coatsville,(Pa.), three sons: Edward L. Doran and his wife, Sheri, of Florham Park, New Jersey, Jerome M. Doran and his wife, Sharon, of Painesville, Ohio, and James A. Doran and his wife, Nancy, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mike was blessed with good health and the love of his family which allowed him to enjoy every day of his journey in life. He was a very positive person who never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He enjoyed long walks, collecting and gifting coins, singing and listening to music.

Mike was a wonderful father and a friend who will be sorely missed.

Honoring his wishes, a private memorial service will be held for Mike at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in St. Severin Catholic Cemetery, Drifting, next to his wife of sixty-six years.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
