Dolores A. (Morgan) Deliman

Dolores A. Deliman, 90, of Chester Hill, died on February 1, 2019, at her residence.

Dolores was born on December 9, 1928, in Snow Shoe, a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Sarah “Sadie” E. ( Hauser) Morgan.

She was a 1949 graduate of the former Snow Shoe High School.

She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg. Dolores was first employed at the paper mill in Lock Haven; she was then employed at the former Quehanna facility of the Curtiss-Wright Corp.

Dolores was married on June 11, 1955, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Snow Shoe, to John M. Deliman, who recently preceded her in death on January 24, 2019. Dolores and John had been married for 63 years.

Dolores was actively involved with her local community. She volunteered for a number of organizations including the local chapters of the Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Cancer Society; the local Boy and Girl Scouts of America and the former Chester Hill Mother’s Club. She was also very involved with coordinating and staffing the local Bloodmobile for many years. Her efforts with the Boy Scouts were recognized with her being awarded the St. George Medal through the National Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Silver Beaver Award through the Bucktail Council, BSA. The purpose of the St. George Emblem is to recognize outstanding contributions to the spiritual development of Catholic youth in the program of the Boy Scouts of America. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is noteworthy that both Dolores and her late husband, John, were both awarded the Silver Beaver for their commitment to the scouts of the Moshannon Valley area and Bucktail Council as a whole.
