William Steven “Steve” Czar

William Steven “Steve” Czar, 68, of West Decatur, died Saturday, November 19, 2022, at his residence.

Steve was born on September 3, 1954, in Philipsburg, a son of  Helen (Danko) Czar of Philipsburg; and the late William Czar.

Steve was a 1972 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School.

He was employed throughout his working career at the Glen-Gery plant in Bigler. Steve was a dedicated and adept employee who was entrusted with numerous operational responsibilities at the refractory throughout his career. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America, Local 08166. Steve retired from Glen-Gery after 40+ years of service.

Steve was a social member of the Philipsburg American Legion, the Clearfield Moose and the AMVETS.

His favorite pastime was traveling with his family. He especially enjoyed touring the western part of the United States.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Amy L. Bloom and her husband, David, of Philipsburg; two grandchildren, Joseph W. and Jonathan R. Bloom, both of Philipsburg; two sisters, Shirley A. Kreamer, of Marysville, Pa. and Bonnie L. Eckberg, of Philipsburg; one brother, Thomas M. “Tom” Czar and his wife, Tina, of Philipsburg; and numerous other extended family members.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Philipsburg.
