Joselyn M. Czap

Joselyn M. Czap, 83, of Philipsburg, died Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at her residence.

Joselyn was born on March 19, 1939, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late James A. and Martha (Moriarty) Molleca.

Joselyn was a 1957 graduate of the Philipsburg High School. She furthered her education and graduated in 1961 from the Indiana State Teachers College, Indiana, Pa.

During her working career, she was employed as a teacher in the business curriculum at the West Branch Area High School from 1963 until her retirement in 1995 .

Joselyn was an active member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Hawk Run; where she served for many years as the treasurer for the church’s Altar Society. She was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge and Country Club, Lodge #1173, Philipsburg.

Joselyn was married on May 18, 1963, in Hawk Run, to Michael Czap, who survives at home.

She is also survived by a daughter, Nikki A. Taubenberger and her husband, Steve, of Edinburg, Virginia; two sons, Michael A. Czap and his wife, Jody, of York and Jay A. Czap and his wife, Julie, of Abbottstown; five grandchildren: Anthony Czap and his wife, Callie, of Philipsburg, Zachary Czap , of Philipsburg, Andrew Czap and Corban Czap, both of Orlando, Florida and Karl Taubenberger, of Woodstock, Virginia; one great-grandchild, Enslee Taubenberger; and numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolores Werries and Marlene Molleca, in addition to her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 10am, at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 53 Fulton Street, Hawk Run, with Fr. Paul Bigelow and Proto-Deacon Emil Gulick, celebrants.

Visitation will be at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm; and on Friday from 9 am until time for the procession to leave for church.

A Panachida will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 pm.

Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery, Hawk Run.
