Ethel B. Cipollini

Ethel B. Cipollini, 93, of Chester Hill and formerly of Philipsburg, died Sunday, October 3, 2021, at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Diana “Dede” and Ernest Coleman, Jr., in Chester Hill.

Ethel was born on March 28, 1928, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Harry C. and Sarah J. (Casper) Bachman.

She was a 1946 graduate of the Lewistown High School.

Ethel was first employed as a department store sales associate in Lewistown. However, she was employed for most of her working career as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. Ethel was also employed at Moffatt’s Floral shop and enjoyed delivering flowers.

Ethel was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipsburg; where she had served as a Deacon and an Elder. She also spearheaded numerous fundraising activities for the Philipsburg-Osceola PTA and the church. In particular, the Mounties football concession and the seasonal flower sales.

She was also very involved with the Hemlock Girl Scout Council. She was recognized by the council for her dedication and contributions to the Girl Scouts and local community.

Among her favorite pastimes, she dearly loved tending to her flowers and watching her grandchildren.

Ethel was married on February 15, 1957, in Hershey, to Edward J. Cipollini, who survives at home.

She is also survived by two daughters, Mary Joy McCliment and her husband, James D. McCliment, PA-C, of Philipsburg and Diana L. “Dede” Coleman and her husband, Ernest (Jr.), of Chester Hill; four grandchildren: Nathan Lesko and his wife, Megan, Morgan Snyder and her husband, Charles, Lauren Johnson and her husband, Troy, and Sarah Bryan and her husband, Drew; five great-grandchildren: Maggie, Natalee, Mason, Macie and Tanner; and numerous other extended family members including Christine Prough and Jason, Todd, Brandon and Kestrel McCliment and their families.

Ethel was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Pierce, in addition to her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 11 am, at the First Presbyterian Church of Philipsburg, with Rev. Dr. Kathleen “Katie” Hopper, officiating.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg; and on Thursday, at the church, from 10am until the time of the funeral service.

Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
