John Cantolina, Jr.

John Cantolina, Jr., 84, of Morrisdale, died Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

John was born on November 2, 1938, in Oak Grove, a son of the late John and Mary (Villella) Cantolina.

John was an US Army veteran. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Morrisdale and the Sons of Italy, Clearfield.

He was the owner / operator of John Cantolina Trucking Company until his retirement.

Among his favorite pastimes he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football.

John was married on May 7, 1960, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, to the former Grace Ann Biancuzzo, who preceded him in death on May 7, 2015.

John was also preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Cantolina; six sisters and three brothers in addition to his parents.

John is survived by four children: John Joseph Cantolina, of Morrisdale; Paul T. Cantolina and his fiancée, Joann Yurky-Shimmel, of Osceola Mills; Anita Witherite and her husband, Michael, of Morrisdale; and Gina M. Soster and her husband, Michael, of Snow Shoe; eight grandchildren: Paul T. Cantolina, II, Constance Horton and her husband, William, John A. Cantolina-Lyons, Nathan A. Graham, Jr., Andrew Bass, Melody Bloom and her husband, Jacob, Mary Soster and Toby Soster; eight step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved like his own.

He was the last of his generation.

A funeral service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 10 am, with Deacon Brian Yurky, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm; and on Friday from 9 am until the time of the service.

Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.

Interment will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Morrisdale.
