Linda M. “Poodle” Bryan

Linda M. “Poodle” Bryan, 68, of (Hudson), RD Philipsburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, with her husband by her side.

Linda was born on September 21, 1953, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Alvin Clair and Olive Irene (Bumbarger) Mease.

She was employed during her working career doing what she loved; cooking at Bock’s Tea Room, the New Oasis, the Grassflat L.O.O.Moose, Lodge #941 and numerous other bars and restaurants over the past 50 years.

Linda was married on November 18, 1989, to Larry A. Bryan, who survives at home.

She is also survived by a daughter, Leann Bryan and her companion, Eric Johnson, of West Decatur; a son, Jim Bryan and his wife, Skye, of Osceola Mills; two grandchildren, Zach and Zoe Bumbarger, of West Decatur; five sisters: Debra Bumbarger, of Philipsburg, Sandy Lucas and her husband, Fred, of Philipsburg, Janet Shimmel, of Morrisdale, Teresa Harvey, of Philipsburg and Crystal Steele, of Philipsburg; two brothers, Alvin Mease and his wife, Elaine, of Mahaffey and Rick Mease and his companion, Deb Hallman, of Philipsburg; her mother-in-law, Barbara A. (Kennedy) Bryan of (Hudson) RD Philipsburg; a brother-in-law, Robert Bryan and his wife, Tammy, of Philipsburg; a sister-in-law, Darlene Zendek, of Philipsburg; and numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Mease; her father-in-law, William Lee Bryan; two brothers-in-law, James Shimmel and Rick Harvey; a nephew, Timothy Steele; and her sister’s fiancĂ©, James Hurd.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Linda enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She was always the one who brought people together and loved to cook for everyone. No one ever went home hungry.

It was Linda’s request that there be no public visitation or funeral service. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
