Gary E. Bratton, Sr.

Gary E. Bratton, Sr., 80, of (Hudson) RD Philipsburg, died Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

Gary was born on May 25, 1940, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Lee and Elizabeth (Frank) Bratton.

He was a 1958 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School.

Gary was employed with several area businesses throughout his working career; including the former Quaker Market in Chester Hill, Barnes and Tucker Mining of Coalport and the former Rushton Mine, RD Osceola Mills. Gary had been most recently employed in the maintenance department with the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District until his retirement.

Gary was married on August 28, 1958, in Philipsburg, to the former Nancy L. Vaux, who preceded him in death on May 5, 2017.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Gary E. Bratton, Jr.; a daughter, Jodi L. McAllister; and a sister, Shirley Hartle.

Gary is survived by two sons, Randy A. Bratton, of Curwensville and Gregg L. Bratton and his wife, Michele, of Benson North Carolina; two sisters, Constance J. “Connie” Liegey and her husband, Edward, of Frenchville and Patsy Green, of Virginia; one brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Bratton and his wife, Barb, of Erie, Pa; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and other extended family members.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
