Gerald L. “Jerry” Branthoover, Sr.

Gerald L. “Jerry” Branthoover, Sr., 77, of Clearfield, died Friday, November 15, 2019, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Jerry was born on December 15, 1941, in Tarentum, Pa., a son of the late Oscar Vernon and Harriet (Girt) Branthoover.

Jerry was a graduate of the former Tarentum High School. Following high school, he furthered his education at Waynesburg University, Waynesburg, Pa.,where he received a bachelor’s degree in geology.

Jerry owned and operated a geological services business in Clearfield. He was also a Penn DOT certified drilling inspector and owned the business, Maps Plus.

Jerry was a member of the Winburne Presbyterian Church and a Lay Pastor for the Huntingdon Presbytery. He was a member of the Aircraft Owner & Pilot Assoc., (AOPA). He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Jerry is survived by two sons, Gerald Lee “Chip” Branthoover, Jr. and his wife, Tracy, and Robert Scott Branthoover, all of Philipsburg; three grandchildren: Racquel White and her husband, Adam, of Osceola Mills, Ericia Ott and her husband, Michael, of Grampian and Tony Branthoover and his wife, Tabby, of Grampian; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Ott and Brodie White; and numerous other extended family members.

Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Branthoover, in addition to his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at 11 am, at the Winburne Presbyterian Church, 79 Lanse Hill Road, Winburne, with Moderator CLP, Gary B. Jewart, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
