Ronald J. Barnett

Ronald J. Barnett, 88, of Philipsburg, died Friday, June 24, 2022 at Windy Hill Village, PSL, Philipsburg.

Ronald was born on June 1, 1934, in Philipsburg, a son of the late James W. and Mary Vivian “Toots” (Renwick) Barnett.

He was a 1952 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.

He was employed with a few area businesses throughout his working career. During in his career, he worked for the former Pennshire Clothes, Inc., the former E.A. Roos, (South) Philipsburg, then as a milkman for the former Long’s /Purity Dairy, Philipsburg and also in the maintenance department at Penn State. He remained working at Penn State until his retirement.

Ronald was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge. He was also a member of the Crossroads Lodge (California Hollow).

Ronald was married on August 19, 1955, in Philipsburg, to the former Betsy Dunsmore, who survives at home.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. “Barney” Barnett, in addition to his parents.

He is also survived by one daughter, Lisa McCamley and her husband, Tim, of Philipsburg; five grandchildren: Matt McCamley and his wife, Emma, Kurt McCamley and his fiancée, Anna, Corissa Plazarin and her husband, Richard, Alyssa Raffetto and her husband, Daniel, and Ryan Barnett; five great-grandchildren: Emilee Plazarin, Dominic and Ava Raffetto, Parker McCamley and Sawyer McCamley; one brother, Gary Barnett, of Philipsburg; and Barney’s surviving spouse, Gabriele “Gabi” (Berdel) Healey and her husband, Mike, of Philipsburg.

A memorial service will be held at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg, on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 2 pm, with Pastor Donald Smith, officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until the time of the service.

Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.
