Todd A. Alitz

Todd A. Alitz, 57, of RD Philipsburg, died Monday, April 5, 2021, at his residence.

Todd was born on January 16, 1964, in Ames, Iowa, a son of Dennis J. and Linda M. (Downey) Alitz who survive of Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

Todd was a 1981 graduate of Liverpool High School, Liverpool, New York. He furthered his education at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park Campus, where he received two bachelor’s degrees.

Following his graduation from Penn State, Todd was employed as a lab technician with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s fish hatcheries in Centre County.

After about 5 years with the Fish Commission, he accepted a position with the University Area Joint Authority. Todd began his career with the UAJA as a lab manager; and he was currently employed as the IT Manager.

Among his favorite pastimes, Todd enjoyed cooking, sports, animals, he was an avid reader and learner and he enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He had a kind and compassionate personality and he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, LeRoy A. and Verda M. (Roben) Alitz; and his maternal grandparents, Doyle V. and Doris M. (Martin) Downey.

Todd is also survived by his brother, Christian L. Alitz, of Chelmsford, Mass., and numerous other extended family members, in addition to his parents.

Todd and his brother shared an especially close relationship as they would spend hours talking on  the phone or playing online gaming.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
