Virginia “Ginny” Adams

Virginia “Ginny” Adams, 84, of Philipsburg, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019.

Ginny was born on January 22, 1935, in Houtzdale, a daughter of the late James and Marie (Saland) Tubo.

She was a 1952 graduate of the former Houtzdale-Woodward-Brisbin “H-W-B” High School.

Following high school, she furthered her education and graduated in 1955 from the former Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing. She accepted a Registered Nurse position with the hospital and remained there throughout her career. Her love of nursing was the foundation of her dedicated career that spanned over 46 years.

Ginny was married on October 26, 1957, in Winchester, Virginia, to Donald “Audie” Adams, who preceded her in death on December 6, 1985.

Ginny was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipsburg; where she had served as a choir member and Deacon.

She is survived by one daughter, Margo Lynn Muchinsky and her husband, Lee Andrew Muchinsky, and a granddaughter, Marlee Adams Muchinsky, all of Palmyra, Pa; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other extended family members.

Ginny was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers, in addition to her parents and husband, “Audie.”

Ginny will be remembered as a compassionate and loving mother, grandmother, friend and nurse.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 11 am, at the First Presbyterian Church, 509 E. Presqueisle Street, Philipsburg, with Rev. Dr. Katie Hopper, officiating.

Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the service.
